Having cut her teeth working in the NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (DECCW) managing CitySwitch Green Office, Desirée is well versed in energy efficiency in the commercial built environment.
Desirée hopes to see a significant transformation in the sustainability and environmental efficiency of Newcastle through sign off of EUAs used to enable capital to flow to building retrofits.

When asked what drives her passion in energy efficiency, Desirée enthused, “Improving energy efficiency means encouraging innovation and technology, creating jobs, reducing our dependence on non-renewable resources, reducing carbon pollution and saving money.”
“It’s hard to not be passionate about energy efficiency as it makes sense on so many levels. It’s an important first step to reducing our impact on the natural environment,” she said.
